Gate Policy
At Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park our main goal is to provide you with a safe and enjoyable day at our track. Please take a minute to read over our drag strip gate policies so you can prepare in advance for what is permitted and prohibited. PERMITTED ITEMS
The following items are allowed entry into Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park as long as they meet the standards stated below:
- Coolers no larger than 14x14x14
- Binoculars, scanners, headsets, and cameras
- Seat cushions and seat backs
- Strollers are permitted through the gates but not allowed in the grandstand areas.
- All items brought through the gates are subject to be searched.
PROHIBITED ITEMS
The following may NOT enter the admission gates or be left in or around the gate area:
- Firearms, fireworks, sharp objects or weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited.
- No alcohol or drugs (unless prescribed by a medical physician and medically necessary).
- No glass containers of any kind will be permitted.
- No bicycles, scooters, skateboards, or personal golf carts.
- No glass containers, folding chairs, coolers larger than 14x14x14
- No pets (unless registered aide dog)
- Smoking is strictly prohibited and enforced in all spectator seating areas.
- Lewd behavior and language will not be tolerated

Below are some helpful hints and tips on what to bring and what to make your visit to Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park more enjoyable. Also review our gate policy to what is not permitted at the raceway.
Bag Chair
If you are taking in an oval race on the world famous Grass Hill in Turn 1, be sure to bring a bag chair to sit on during the event. Please note you can’t bring a chair into the reserved seating area or any of the grandstands.
Blanket
If you are taking in an oval race on the world famous Grass Hill in Turn 1, be sure to bring a blanket to spread it out and sit on it during the event.
Cash
While there are ATM’s for many events, it is a good idea to have cash for purchases.
Cell Phones
There are no pay phones at the facility so be sure to bring your cell phone.
Chapstick
Being in the sun and wind can take a toll on your lips so be sure to bring a stick of chapstick.
Comfortable Shoes
Many events involve walking from the parking lots to your seating section so wear comfortable shoes to get to the grandstands.
Earplugs
Earplugs are highly recommended at any Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park event to protect your hearing during races.
Food
You are able to bring in food and snacks with you into the events.
Parking Information
Enter the facility off of U.S. Highway 136 and you will be directed to our parking lots. For most events parking in the facility parking lots is the shortest walk to your seats.
Sharpie and Autograph Book
For many events there are autograph sessions that takes place prior to the race, so be sure to bring a sharpie and autograph book to get autographs from your favorite drivers.
Sunscreen
Protect yourself from the summer rays!
Sweatshirts
Temperatures cool off quickly when the sun goes down so be sure to bring an extra layer of clothes to ward off a chill.
