NASCAR Camping World Truck Series returns to Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis in 2022

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – In coordination with today’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule release, Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis is excited to announce the return of NASCAR to the schedule on Friday, July 29, 2022.

For the first time since 2011, a NASCAR national touring series event will race at the 0.686-mile oval located in Brownsburg, Indiana. The event will serve as the first race in the 2022 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Playoffs.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome back NASCAR and the Camping World Truck Series to Lucas Oil Raceway in 2022,” said Kasey Coler, general manager of Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis.  “The Truck Series has celebrated many exciting finishes in its history at the track and we can’t wait to add to that history beginning next year.”

In addition to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the ARCA Menards Series will race at Lucas Oil Raceway for the 14th time in 2022 and join the trucks on an action-packed July 29 race day.

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debuted at the track formerly known as Indianapolis Raceway Park in 1995, with Mike Skinner winning the inaugural race from the pole.  Over the course of 17 races between 1995 and 2011, drivers such as Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle, Austin Dillon, Matt Crafton and more made Truck Series starts at Lucas Oil Raceway.

NASCAR arrived for the first time at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis in 1982 with the Grand National (now Xfinity) Series, with stars like Dale Earnhardt, Jeff Gordon, Darrell Waltrip and more competing at the Indiana short track across a 30-year period.

Riding the momentum from a 2021 oval season which enjoyed successful events such as the Superstar Racing Experience, Carb Night Classic, Thursday Night Thunder Homecoming, and Hoosier Classic, NASCAR’s return to Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis will further bolster an exciting 2022 schedule.

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at Lucas Oil Raceway on Friday, July 29 will kick off a premier week of auto racing action in Indianapolis, bringing NASCAR’s three national touring series to town for the first time in more than a decade.

Tickets to the NASCAR race at Lucas Oil Raceway will go on-sale on Wednesday, October 27th, and additional race announcements are forthcoming to add to this already exciting weekend. Reserved seats will be $45 apiece and general admission tickets will cost $35 apiece – plus kids 12 and under receive FREE general admission with a paying adult!
